Precision Laser Cutting for Technical and Creative Projects

We transform flat material sheets into precise three-dimensional components. Whether it is an architectural model, a custom enclosure, or decorative elements, our CO₂ laser ensures edges with maximum purity and millimeter precision.

Laser-cut acrylic shapes on a honeycomb bed with smooth edges and a modern look.

Laser cutting is a subtractive manufacturing process where a highly concentrated beam of light locally heats and vaporizes the material. Unlike mechanical milling, there is no physical contact between the tool and the workpiece, which prevents deformation and allows for extremely complex geometries that would be impossible to realize with conventional methods.

In our Vienna workshop, we utilize state-of-the-art technology to produce both organic shapes and technical components with a tolerance of a fraction of a millimeter. We place particular emphasis on material compatibility and the optimization of cutting paths to ensure efficient production while maintaining maximum quality.

Your Cutting Project Workflow

01

Data Review and Validation

Upon receiving your file, we check the vector data for closed paths and correct line weights. This ensures the laser performs a clean cut without interruptions or errors.

02

Material Selection and Nesting

We select the appropriate sheet quality and arrange the parts to minimize material waste (nesting), which directly reduces the final costs for you.

03

The Laser Process

Under controlled extraction, the material is cut. We precisely adjust the speed and intensity based on the material thickness to prevent burn marks or scorching.

04

Post-Processing and Quality Control

Parts are deburred and checked for dimensional accuracy. For acrylic, optional edge cleaning is performed before the goods are securely packed for delivery.

Who is our Laser Cutting service for?

Our services are designed for a wide range of users who value precision and repeatability. This specifically includes:

  • Architects and Model Makers: Creation of detailed floor plans, facade models, and complex structures from plywood or white acrylic.
  • Product Designers and Inventors: Rapid prototyping of housings, brackets, or mechanical components for initial functional testing.
  • Creatives and Artists: Production of stencils, ornaments, or kinetic objects requiring high depth of detail.
  • SMEs and Start-ups: Small-series production of branded packaging, display holders, or internal organizational systems.

Technical Implementation and Methodology

We operate with a high-precision CO₂ laser, which is ideal for non-metallic materials. The process always begins with digital preparation. Since the laser follows a specific path, all cutting lines must be provided as true vectors. Raster graphics (such as JPG or PNG) cannot be cut directly; they can only be engraved.

During the cutting process, the material is placed on a specialized honeycomb bed. This minimizes the occurrence of back-side burns and ensures uniform air circulation. The cooling system of the laser ensures that beam quality remains constant even during long production runs, which is critical for large sheet formats.

Preparing Your Documents

To ensure smooth production and avoid unnecessary costs for corrections, we ask that you prepare your files according to the following criteria:

  • File Formats: We prefer .DXF, .SVG, or .AI (Adobe Illustrator).
  • Colors as Indicators: Please use different colors for different operations (e.g., Red for cutting through, Black for engraving).
  • Line Weight: Cutting lines should be defined as "hairlines" (0.001 mm) so the software recognizes them as paths rather than filled areas.
  • Scale: Files must be created in a strict 1:1 scale.

If you are unsure about file preparation, we recommend our specific guide: Preparing Files for Laser.

The Result: What You Receive

After completion of the manufacturing process, you receive your components in secure packaging designed to prevent transport damage. Depending on the material and project scope, the result includes:

  • Precisely cut individual parts or assembled groups.
  • Clean, sealed edges (for acrylic, the melting process creates smooth, glossy cut edges).
  • The original vector data in a final version optimized for production (if we handled the layout design).
  • A detailed report of the material quantities used for your records.

Lead Times and Deadlines

The average lead time for standard projects is 5-7 days. This window covers technical review, material procurement, and the actual production. For complex projects with many individual parts, this period may shift slightly, in which case we will inform you in advance.

For urgent projects, we offer an express service. Please note that for requested acceleration of production, a surcharge of 30% is applied to the total price, provided that our workshop capacity allows it.

Limitations: What We Do Not Produce

For safety reasons and to protect our equipment, there are materials we strictly do not process. These include plastics that release chlorine gas when burned, such as PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). These fumes are highly toxic and would permanently damage the laser optics.

Additionally, we do not perform work on materials whose contents are unknown or those that pose an explosion risk. We assume no liability for material stability if the material specifications were not correctly communicated to us by the client.

Pricing and VAT

Our pricing is calculated transparently based on material consumption and machine time. We bill per material sheet in A3 format to allow for easy calculation for small and medium projects. For larger formats, the area is calculated individually.

All mentioned prices include the statutory VAT of 20%. For B2B customers, we provide prices net, with billing conducted according to our Terms and Conditions.

Laser Cutting Price List (A3 Sheet)
Material Price incl. VAT Price excl. VAT Unit
Plywood 3mm 12.00 € 10.00 € per sheet
Acrylic 3mm 18.00 € 15.00 € per sheet

Frequently Asked Questions about Cutting

Can I bring my own materials?

Yes, this is generally possible. However, we must first verify that the material is laser-compatible and does not release dangerous gases. We assume no liability for material waste during the setup process for customer-provided materials.

What is the maximum material thickness you can cut?

In the standard range, we process plywood and acrylic up to a thickness of approximately 10 mm. For thicker materials, a stronger taper of the cut edge may occur. Please inquire for individual cases.

Are the edges of acrylic really smooth?

Yes, with acrylic, the material melts due to the laser beam, resulting in a so-called "polished edge." This is smooth and glossy and generally requires no further processing.

What is the minimum order value?

To ensure economical machine setup, our minimum order value is 25.00 €. This covers the basic costs for file review and machine startup.
